Monkey login

Just bought Variaxe Acoustic to go with my Variaxe 500. Workbench is fine with the 500 but will not recognise the Acoustic. I have downloaded Workbench update, but need Monkey to install it.
Monkey refuses to recognise my login, despite the fact that the Line 6 website has no trouble with it. Error message reads: "(Code 800038C6) unknown server error occured". Message recommends disabling pop-up blockers, anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. I have tried these, with no success.
How do I get Monkey to recognise the same login that the webiste does? Is it my system (Windows XP) or something with Monkey?
Any advice much appreciated.
Your Line 6 Monkey Login should be the same as your forum login. I know that one or two people have had a similar error in the past. I don't know what the cause(s) was/were, but Line 6 Customer Support should be able to look into this and resolve it for you if it's anything at their end. If you have managed to download and install Monkey and you have the update in file form, you should be able to Update From File anyway.

Hi,
This could be related to a number of things.
First try disabling any anti virus software, or fire walls.
If you are using a wireless router try connecting directly to your cable modem with an Ethernet cable.

Thanks, David, but afraid it hasn't helped. Switched off anti-virus and firewall, but still get the same error message over and over. No wireless, just the cable plugged straight into the front USB socket. Nothing in the error message to say what's wrong or what to do, just repeated denial of access.

Hi,
Are you logged in as a system administrator on your computer?

David,
I've never actually loged in as 'administrator' per se, but I suppose I must be since this is a particularly personal PC and I am the only person who has ever used it. Does that qualify me as 'administrator' for the purpose of this exercise? (BTW, this question should confirm that I am no expert in computers. Even some of the basic stuff is a mystery to me).
Thanks,
Kris
Hey kjhansen,
Is it possible that you are running an older version of Monkey? I have only seen connections problems like this when people are using Line 6 Monkey 1.40 and below. After reviewing you download history it does not appear that you have downloaded the latest version, you can do so from the link below:
Windows Line 6 Monkey 1.43:

Download and install this version of Monkey and try to login, make sure to keep the firewall and antivirus software disabled. Let us know if you still have trouble.
Don,
Downloaded new Monkey as advised and the whole thing works a treat. Problem solved. Thanks very much for your help
