Software download via MIDI?

Is it possible to do flash updates on an X3 live via the MIDI connection instead of using the ISB connection?

My USB interface seems to be knackered

    Because, since Monkey can't identify the device yet (your usb connection isn't recognized) it presents you with a comprehensive list of all Monkey-known devices and asks you to select one. Some of these devices can be connected to Monkey via midi. The X3 is not one of them.
