Using Line 6 M9 to change Randall V2 channels

I'm thinking about buying a used Randall V2. The only problem is that it doesn't come with the original MIDI footswitch.

 

Rather than pay £100 for a replacement, can I use the MIDI on the M9 to change channels? All I want to be able to do is to switch from clean to the tube o/d channel.
