Variax 600, 4th (D) string volume is lower than the rest.

My variax 600's 4th string is about 1/3 lower in volume than the rest. Is there anything I can do to get them all the same?

Hi,
got the same problem on my second hand 600 (very worried at first!)
Fixed it by slightly raising the 4th string (more action) screwing the two small hex screws on the saddle.
The string (maybe too old) didn't vibrate enough since it was touching the frets.

Another way is through workbench, stting the rest of the strings lower, to even them.Usually this is from the piezo, means it is dying...Be prepared.
