FBV Express MKII - no longer works after update (1 day old)

Good Afternoon,
I bought a brand new FBV Express MKII pedal yesterday, straight out the box (for the sole purpose of updating my Spider IV 150 to version 2 and using the loop function).
I installed monkey, updated the amp to V2 (infusion) and then installed spider edit... all was going along fine till I tried to use the pedal (the pedal worked before the update).
When I plug it in, the LED's just flash for about 10 min, then the pedal gains some sort of functionality, ie: I can change channels, but the sound is god awful... sounds like an incredibly bad connection. Without the pedal unplugged the amp sounds perfect... furthermore, my PC no onger picks up the pedal when plugged in.
I took it back to the shop, the pedal works on a amp with the previous firmware, took it back home, thought it may be a glitch, but does not work on v2
This is not cool.
I am from south africa, hence a huge mark-up on the product (I paid R1400 at a discount) at Marshall Music.
Please advise.
Thank-You
Mark
UPDATE: '24JAN12'
During the course of the week the pedal starting getting more funtionality, up to a point now where it seems to be working fine.
The only problem that remains is that I cannot connect it to to a PC?
I have tried 2 laptops and a Desktop all with the same result stating that the USB device has malfunctioned and that windows cannot detect (recognize) it.
This is all very strange
Please advise
Mark
When you took the FBV Express MKII back to the store and tested it there with another amp, did you use a different network cable (the store's)? Or did you bring the same one you're using at home?
The majority of behavioral glitches that I've encountered between FBV and host devices have been due to a bad CAT-5/Ethernet cable, believe it or not.
When you connect the FBV Express MKII to a host computer with USB, are you saying that Line 6 Monkey does "not" automatically detect it? Which version of Line 6 Monkey software do you have installed?
Thanks for getting back to me Perry.
When I took it back to the store, I used the same CAT5 cable (The one that came with the FBV Expresss mkii).
(I have 2 others I have at home which I tried with the same results).
Yes, Line 6 Monkey does not pick it up at all. I installed line 6 monkey the same day I bought the pedal (Mon 16th JAN 2012) so i asssume it is the latest version.
Furthermore to all that has happened thus far there has been more developments...
Before last night, I could not callibrate the pedal (the toe switch was clicking, but not working). basically stuck on '1'.
Callibration worked before I did any update (On the day of Purchase).
I tried plugging it back into my PC last night (for interest sake) and the LED's started flashing quite dimly (But was not picked up by my PC) Now... things have changed once again.
As it stands:
Everytime I plug the CAT5 cable into the pedal and remove it, it acts like the toe switch (activating either Vol /Wah each time).
Toe switch still however does not work.
When I try Calibrace it now, it completely skips step '1' and goes straight to step 2 (powering amp on with 'D' held down).
I have noticed on these threads very similar issue's that some people have been experiencing... I However seem to be experiencing them all.
Any sort of insight or help you may have to offer will be greatly appreciated.
Thank-You
Kind Regards
Mark.
This sounds like a hardware problem with the FBV Express is it continues to not connect to a computer via USB. Make sure to test all of the computer's USB ports and remove all other USB devices while troubleshooting this problem. If you are within the return period with your dealer, you may want to try to swap it out with a new one, or contact an authorized service center:
