I have seen this problem posted by others so I'm not sure what to expect. It would be nice if LIne6 actually had a tech support team with a phone number or email. This system is so difficult for us technically challenged old guys to navigate.
Bought this pod x3 live used in november of last year. Wanted to use it for the bass patches. I have very little time vested in it to date, but now the unit comes on but the screen is blank. No amount of button pushing has corrected the problem.
I used the line6 monkey, when I connect the pod x3 live to my computer using usb cable, the software says my pod is not registered, yet it shows as being registered when I view my products.
I have the feeling I've bought a dud of a product from a company that doesn't like providing technical support.

From the symptoms, it sounds like you need to take the POD X3 to an Authorized Service Center for repair:
