POD HD Pro: Power switch issue?

Hi,

I have just received my brand new POD HD Pro, and the power switch does not work properly: if you just push it to power up the unit, nothing happens. You have to actually push harder the switch DOWN (vertically) so that the unit starts. Once the unit is warm, you can then start/stop the unit seamlessly without having to push hard on the switch. If you let the device shut down for a few hours and try to start it again, the same problem occurs.

Is it a known issue? Should I return the unit?

    Hi

It's not a common issue as far as I'm aware.  It would seen from your description that your specific unit may have a hardware issue and if it were mine, I would probably return it to my supplier for an exchange unit.

I just got my pod pro and want to set up a rig for live use direct to through a pa. I was thinking of getting a pre amp to use with this unit. Is this the best way to go direct.? If not

can you reccomend some different alternatives?

Personally I would just feed the XLR outputs from the POD HD Pro directly to a couple of Microphone level inputs on the PA's mixing desk.  No need for additional pre-amps
