It's been working fine for a few days now, updated and all, and today after hooking up and calibrating a new shortboard, I way playing some wah and the POD HD suddenly shut off - then it came back on for a second and then off again for a second and over and over again. I got it to work again by turning the power off and then on again, but every so often it starts doing it again. What's going on?
Here's something, I just noticed that the power supply is hot, really hot. Like burn your hand hot. I don't think that's normal. It's been plugged in for about 24 hours now though the POD was off most of that time. I only used it for about an hour today. . Are you supposed to unplug it? (I doubt it)
No, I don't unplug it, but to be so hot is really not normal.By the way try to refresh your pod HD firmware, by reinstalling it, and try to reset your pod. After this ,let me know.
I've got it working fine on the power supply that came with the POD 2.0 that I bought a few days before the HD, which I need to return, so it's not the unit itself. Does anyone know if I can just get the power cord replaced by line 6, or do I have to return the whole thing to where I bought it? Which was Amazon.com.
EDIT: Oh wait a minute. I think I know the problem. I think I was was using the POD 2.0 power supply on the HD by mistake! As I said I got both just days apart and I think they got mixed up.`The one that overheated is a transformer separate from the plug and rated at 2000 mA. But the one I thought belonged to the 2.0 is rated at 3 full amps and is right on the plug. I noticed that the back of the 2.0 says "2000 mA minimum" on it. I guess I was using the POD 2.0 supply for the HD and it was pulling more juice than the supply is rated for. It's a much bigger and heavier transformer though. Weird.
So if the HD's transformer has the AC plug coming right out of it then I'm right. Does it?
Stay in the mix and in the know.
