Start by registereing your device here:

If you have trouble registereing it may be because the previous owner must de-register from their account first. If you know who that is, ask them to login to their Line 6 account and use the same link to de-register. If you don't know who the current registrant is, or have other registration problems, let Line 6 know by calling them at the number you will find under the Contact Us button at the foot of this page, or post another question here asking for registration help.

Then download and install Line 6 Monkey from here:

http://line6.com/software/

Run Line 6 Monkey and follow its instructions carefully to install the X3 driver. You will then be able to use Line 6 Monkey again to download and install the other software (X3 firmware, the Gearbox editor and the Pod Farm plugin to use with your DAW).
