Hi I am new to the community and I have a "Line 6 Spider IV" 75watt amp in my room. I'm really getting interested in the "POD HD" series (HD 400 in particular) and I was just wondering what I would need to connect it to my Spider IV 75 and also if I can connect it. I've heard that it is possible but before I buy it I would like to know how to hook it up and the instructions to do so. Thank you!
Hi,
The best way to connect an HD500 to a spider is through the CD/MP3 input. This will bypass the preamp in the spider. Keep in mind that the volume will be controlled on the 400. HD400 L/Mono Out>Spider IV CD/MP3 in. You'll need a cable like this:

An alternative approach is to plug the HD into the main input of the Spider then power up the Spider while holding down the 'Tap' Button. This bypasses the pre-amp modelling section on the spider and should give you a nice clean route into the power amp. Make sure the master on your HD is low though cause, IIRC, the master volume on the Spider might get disabled also ![]()
Thank you both for your input. I am now more confident to get one. I really appreciate the helpful info.
