Ultra high impedance source (1 Mohm - 3 Mohm)

Short version: Do I need a pre-amp to a Pod 2.0 to use an ultra high impedance device?

 

Long Version: Complete newbie to electric instruments. I am planning on buying a NS Design Violin which has an ultra high impedance output (1 Mohm - 3Mohm). It is similar to unpowered accustic guitar piezzo pickups. Will I need to get a pre-amp before plugging into the Pod 2.0.
