Question about using the mobile in pod and jamming to background tracks.

can anyone answer this question:

***Bought a line 6 mobile in and downloaded the POD software
***Wanted to play against jam tracks
***When I use the ipod on the iphone the music turns off as soon as I activate the POD software.

***The extra 1/8" input is tied in with the amp model, meaning if i had a distorted amp mod selected, the external ipod classic plays the jam track but it is distorted because it is going through the amp model.

anyway to use the the pod and have background music playing at the same time?

First launch the iTunes app and select the song you want to play along with, press play to start playing song. Press the home button once to exit the iTunes app. Then make sure your Mobile In adaptor is connected and launch the Mobile POD app, audio playback from iTunes will fade out as the Mobile POD app launches. After Mobile POD finishes loading, double press home button to view your currently running applications, swipe your finger to the right to access the iTunes player controls. Press the play button to resume playback of the song you previously selected in iTunes®. Once the playback has started tap the home button one more time to return to the Mobile POD app.

  Hi Don, I could not get this to work on my iPhone 4S. Any idea of what I am doing wrong? I spoke to one of the techs at Line 6 a few months ago and he seemed to indicate that perhaps a music player was being designed in as an update to mobile pod. Is there any progress in this.     The product specs indicate that Mobile In is compatible with iPhone4 - there is no mention of iPhone4S

I too bought this as a practice tool only to find out that practice tools as simple as an in app audio player were excluded. I would like to see an in app audio player with the ability to tune the song to the guitar and possibly slow down tracks for learning purposes. Until then I guess it will sit and wait..
