That's cool! How it was recorded?
@ Akeron.
Details in the vids description.
Yeah but it doesn't tell me
- What poweramp has been used
- What audio card
- The speakers
You know, some little details that could change the sound a bit ![]()
- I don't think he used a power amp, I'm guessing HD vis USB straight to his DAW
- Another guess here, but I'm thinking his Black Bean??
- Probably virtual cabs and mics from the HD.
But only Apologist can answer for sure.
Triryche is correct:
No power amp.
Just USB into a typical HP laptop.
It is the HD Bean.
All straight tone from Pod HD Bean via USB.
Into Sonar.
I split two Mesa models into two different cabs to channel A and B in the mixer. One cab with pronounced lows the other higher mids and I sent channel A into audio channel panned hard left and channel B mono. I nudged B like 20ms and turned volume down slightly to give it air and the illusion of two different tracks. Did basically the same thing with right side rythm only in many parts I completely deleted channel B as it was too much busy guitar fighting in parts.
Same with punched in riffs and solo. Though I only did one solo take and panned both hard left and right respectively but in pronounced areas like tapping I kept channel B mono in mix to make it stand out more. Oh and right side solo tracks are nudged 20ms.
Hope that makes sense. I also added flange at end on right side rythm and faded both sides out.
Thank you very much I added some details below if you have any other questions Im happy to answer them.![]()
Thanks for the explanation
The sound is coming from the camera mic? You mention the fact that you changed some parts so I assume is not played in real time.
No ..not the camera mic.
My sound is directly fed into DAW via USB so no other sound capturing other than straight to USB. I some times monitor with headphones and sometimes monitor with speaker monitors.
My son took video of me recording one of my rythm takes and solo with a cel phone camera.
There were three total takes. Left rythm, right rythm, and solo.
Nice!! ![]()
Dairy of a Madman was the 1st song I learn from RR.
Thx Tri .. when I was 14 I got very frustrated making the chord changes smoothly to do D.O.A.M. =)
the metal gods are pleased by your offering. you will rock for many years to come.
Thanks bro.. I got the idea for the tone from looking over some of your tones.
I just kept tinkering with amps and cabs until I found a good mix and used an eq to get it where I wanted it ... still trying different eq's though not sure which I like best yet.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
