Help using headphones with POD HD PRO.

I'm having trouble using my headphones with my pod hd pro. I'm not sure if you are suppose to have a power amp or something to do it. I just have my guitar, headphones and of course the hd pro. Can anyone please tell me what I am doing wrong. HELP
