Controlling Cubase transport play stop with one button...

Is this possible?
I want to have one button toggle cubase's start stop buttons via generic remote.
I am able to do it using two buttons, but, I am thinking that it has to be possible to do it via some sort of toggle function, but I haven't been able to find out how.
Been searching around a lot on google to try to find out, but to no avail.
Anyone who knows about this and could enlighten me??
Cheers!
I suspect someone will be able to provide you with a better answer but .,...
If you have an HD500 then it can send MIDI commands. Cubase can be controlled using MIDI Commands and you should be able to program a footswitch on the HD500 for 'start/stop' of cubase. The headache though is that you would need to setup the footswitch(es) in each patch that you use. You may be better off getting hold of a midi foot controller of some kind.
This thread may help --> https://www.steinberg.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=134513
Also, check out the HD500 Advanced Guide (downloadable from Support - Product Manuals above) for Midi setup information.
Thanks for the input.
Yeah, I'm using midi to control cubase, and so far I can make it start and stop with two different buttons, that's no problem, but to actually toggle it, no luck so far.
+1 to Jim,
I can honestly say it's possible but I don't know how you would implement it. Then again, I'm definitely no Cubase expert. I would consult appendix B in the HD500 advanced guide and contact Steinberg. They would know far more about this sort of MIDI implentation in Cubase:
Thanks,
David
