Spider Valve Mk II 112 INTO 1972 Marshall 4 X 12 16 ohm cabinet O.K.???

Amp has 4 or 8 ohm out. Also, if I can indeed use the 4 or 8 ohm out's on the amp into the 4 X 12 16 ohm cabinet do I disconnect the speaker in the combo? Thanks!!!
