Hi guys again! IR man is back... ![]()
OK, no match eQ this time. I made a few raw cab impulses out of my Harley Benton v30cab, nothing special. And I made them through Mesa Mark IV power amp and miked the cab with sm57 in a few positions. Pretty much no tweaking and here are few clips, 3 different positions.

I still dont know how the POD HD cabs can be so WRONG if Line6 used real 100w recto and a REAL mesa cab if I can (well in my opinion) make better raw cabs with the cheapest v30 cab out there, it's just sad.
I'll probably update my rig with some MESA poweramp and forget about the line-in playing with my HD500, but still record with my own IR's....I still think POD HD500 is a GREAT unit overal!!!
cheers, and have a nice day! (or night) ![]()
i personally don't care if we ever see IR's... the cab DEP's did the trick for me for the most part....
but i hope they do it sooner or later just so that the whining will stop ![]()
Even a lot of Axe-Fx users use external IRs, Redwirez and\or Ownhammer, so it seems it's not a "problem" of Line 6 stock cabs only.
I think the Hiway 4x12 sounds great. I think everything else sounds meh. I agree. External IR's - it ain't hard.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
