Linking a POD HD Desktop with Power Engine

Hi all,

I currently own:

POD HD Desktop (Used for guitars) also used as my soundcard

POD Studio UX2  (Used for Mics and bass) also used as my soundcard

I currently record direct from the PODs and have been satisfactory with my results.

I now want to buy a Tech 21 Power Engine 60 to record the guitars with a mic (sm 57)

I would appreciate it if you could help me with a few questions:

1. How do i connect a POD HD Desktop with the power engine?

2. What mic would be good to record the guitars? (I play mostly distorted rock)

3. Would there be any difference between directing direct with the POD HD and recording with a Power Engine (with POD HD) mic'd?

Cheers.

P.S: In my head this is how i think it might work (if it is possible)

POD HD Desktop -> (Mic'd )Tech 21 Power Engine 60 -> (Mic) UX2 -> Direct to Cubase

Thank you everybody!
