Creating a specific set-up

Hey everyone,
I'm new to this forum, but not to the line 6 products.
I've been using a pod xt live since they first brought it out on and off.
in the mean time i've also bought my first great amp.
Its a fender princeton chorus.
In here lies my problem as well.
For distortion channels, I really love the pod xt live, But! for a clean channel i havent found anything nor have i been able to create anything that sounds remotely as good as my fender amp.
But i can't use both in one setting, Since i have to switch cables. I'l try to explain as good as i can.
If i use the pod xt live, I plug into the effect loop "port" of my amp.
For clean i use my amp it self, So i have to remove all cables from my amp, And plugout my guitar from the pod, And plug it into my amp.
You can imagine switching in the middle of a song to distortion while preforming is a hell like this lol
For the distortion, I use the still got the blues custom tone from gary moore wich i downloaded from this site.
Problem is, A part of this great sound, Is of course its amp, And you can't play trough the pod on bypass, And than switch to the channel,
Cuz you will have 2 preamps working against eachother.
So my question is, How do i set my rig up, that i can use both great sounds.. Without switching any cables!!?
Hope someone has a usefull answer for me thanks!
An AB or ABY switch will be your friend.
Here's a couple examples:

I Dont think that would work,
Cuz, playing clean i plug into the input of the amp.
And when i play with the pod i use the effect loops input ( cuz this overwrites the amps preamp)
I figure this is quit a difficult question.
What if i make i simpler: How do i set up my podxt, so that i can use my clean channel of my amp, Tho the effect of the pod?
I see what you're saying.
You could use 2 switch boxes or try to find a switch box that has two AB switches in one.
One would switch the guitar to route to the front of the amp, or to the other switch.
The other switch would toggle inputs for the PODxt Live between the amps effect send or guitar coming from the other switch.
Or if you are electronically inclined you could build one.
you really want to do the 4 cable method: http://line6.com/support/docs/DOC-2504 or 4CM
this allows you to use either the built in sounds of your amp... or the pod...
Stay in the mix and in the know.
