I totally agree with this post . . . we've been here before Line 6 haven't we? I wouldn't hold your breath if you're expecting a fix . . . or any information about a fix.

Me too.
I ordered a Lexicon Alpha yesterday. Under $60 and it's basically the same as a UX2. I'm tired of waiting for this issue to be resolved.
However, the way things usually work, Line 6 will come up with a fix now that I've coughed up for a replacement interface.
If they do, I should get the credit!

Same problem here with TonePort UX1 and Mountain Lion.

Sadly, still no news and no solution since July... Now I seriously think about buying an eleven rack to replace my HD500.

Well I'm up and running. I bought a Lexicon Alpha (under $60) and it works perfectly.
Obviously the plug and play USB audio interfaces have no problem recording with Mountain Lion. The Line6 interfaces are all software driven so you guys are sol until there's a fix.
I'm putting my UX2 on Craig's List!

What do other users recommend as a non-Line 6 replacement for a UX2? I can't wait for several months for them to fix this.

Hi keewiz,
I just ordered a Lexicon Alpha Studio as a replacement for my don't working UX1, too.
What about sound quality in recording compared with UX2?

Hi yello,
Sound quality is great.
The Alpha comes bundled with Cubase Le but I have Digital Performer so I don't need it. The Alpha also comes with a Lexicon reverb plug-in but it's designed to work within Cubase.
Doesn't have quite the routing options of the UX2, but there's a cool feature that I like. When you plug an instrument or mic into the front panel, it disables the stereo line-in.
This means that you can record midi, plug in your guitar and record without having to change any assignments (like you did with Line6).
The playback volume with the Alpha is louder than with the UX2 too.
All in all, this is a fine unit. I have no plans to switch back to the UX2 if and when there's a fix.

Thanks.
For me, It would be also interesting to see latency level with software I use (Logic Pro 9 and Guitar Rig 4 on a Core2Duo 3.03Ghz iMac).
UX1 was very good on this aspect, I hope Alpha will be almost at the same level.

You're saying that if I buy this, I can still use Pod Farm or Gearbox ???
I'd really like to know... it's been more than a month now and it's getting ridiculous !

No. You can't use any Line 6 software with it.
But you can record. The only thing that PodFarm was doing for me was to connect my UX2 to my Mac. Digital Performer has plenty of plug-ins that do the same thing as PodFarm.
I would think that other DAWs offer similar features.
If you're dedicated to Line6 amps and effects, then you're going to have to wait for them to get their act together and release a new driver.
I decided that $60 was a worthwhile investment to get my studio up and running again.

I'm looking at the date of this first post; July 26th.
I can't believe that it's Sepetember 13th and still no solution.
It's pointless to speculate but I can't help wondering if Line 6 are close to releasing a new product or new software that has been designed to work with Mountion Lion and don't want to spend time fixing the old stuff.
Even though I'm up and running with my new interface, I'm still appalled at the total lack of response.
Come on, Line 6!
Do something!!!
