In the Vyzex editor for Floor Pod Plus: What does the AIR knob do?

    Re: AIR in editor

This parameter governs the mix of 'direct' sound to 'room' sound of the virtual microphone. When AIR is set to high levels it's like having the microphone far enough from the cabinet to capture more of the room sound than the direct sound. When the AIR is set to low levels it's like having the microphone positioned close to the cabinet, thereby getting mostly the direct cabinet sound.

... Of course, with Floor POD Plus, the Cabinet, Room and Microphone in the example above are all digitally modeled, but you get the idea.

Correct, but the AIR parameter can also be edited by sending MIDI Control Change Message number 72 to the Floor POD Plus (or Pocket POD). This is how the editor does it, but you could use any controller keyboard's programmable knobs or sliders to generate these messages if you like. In this case you'd be connecting the MIDI out of the controller into the MIDI in of your Floor POD Plus.

If you want to use a hardware controller to tweak a Pocket POD, it is a little trickier since Pocket POD only connects via its miniature USB MIDI port - In this case you'd need the a software application like the Vyzex editor, or a DAW like Sonar or Cubase (there are many others) to act as the MIDI 'junction' between the controller hardware and the Pocket POD.

Plugging headphones into the POD is like being in Direct mode so you should here cabinet modeling when you do that.
