Long board usage

O have a Pod Pro Xt. Just bought a longboard. Is this cable connection a standard modular phone cable? When making the hook up with said cable should the longboard light up or is there a setting i need to enter?

its not a phone cable... but its a standard network cable... cat5 or cat6 and it should automatically power on when plugged in.
