Dead 6th string - no solution so far.

Hi. I bought a used Variax 600 over a year ago, and it worked perfectly for quite a while. However, some months later I started having an intermittent problem of dead low E and A strings. I cleaned the saddles and reflashed the guitar, and it worked fine for a while. Now, for the last few months I've been having a similar but different problem. Every time I turn on the guitar, the low E string is totally dead for 1 to 3 minutes, after which it starts sounding fine. I have read all possible blogs about this problem and tried all the recommendations found: cleaned the saddle, reflashed the guitar, re-soldered the piezo, and finally, replaced the piezo... with no results. I still have to wait several minutes (actually, longer than before replacing the piezo) to have the string working. Taking it to a Line 6 Service Center is not an option though, since I live in Colombia, South America, and there's no Line 6 service here. Can anyone advice me on what to do now? Thank you so much...!
