HD300 - 2 Questions

Hi blades!

Straight to the chase!

1) I use my HD300 with headphones, and it sounds like a choir of angels . But when I plug the HD300 to my Vox amp (Pathfinder R15) or maybe to a Fender F100, it doesnt sound as good.

How do i configure my HD300 to sound as good as with headphones? I dont understand much, but I think its related to the cab simulation and stuff...

What should I do on the Hd300 and on the Amp? (I guess that the amp must be with the knobs in the middle and with a clean sound)

2) I patched to latest version, and I've read that there is a bass effect. How do I find that bass patch / effect? I've searched all the patches and effects on the HD, but I cant seem to find that bass sound...

    Hi there,

Download the POD HD500 manual and read page 2.8. There you'll find output setup info and can correlate this to the HD300.

I don't know about the HD300 cuz I've only been looking at the POD HD 500 which I'll get in a week or so.

Since I don't own the actual unit yet I've not checked out the "Bass" sound... I've seen the new 2.0 version video from Line 6 but wasn't convinced that your guitar would sound like a bass but only that you were able to play through a bass amp model.

    ciao

        Re: HD300 - 2 Questions

Maybe we're not on the same page but what I'm referring to is what the manual states:

"The Modesetting on this page allows you to configure the type of signal fed to your

HD500 analog outputs to optimize for direct recording versus connecting to an external

        amplifier.

Note that this Mode setting affects the signal fed to several POD HD500 outputs: Balanced

Unbalanced & Phones outputs as well as USB Record Send & L6 LINK audio outputs."

This is all on page 2-8 and directly after this info, the manual describes how to set up the POD for amplifiers.

The S/PIDF info is on page 2-9

P.S. It's possible that maybe we have different revisions of the manual?

      Re: HD300 - 2 Questions

When connecting to an amp you should have your HD300 Output Mode to one of the Live settings - the one that most closely matches your amp. Do not use Studio mode when connecting to an amp (that's best for connecting to a mixer, recorder, or PA system). There are two controls for the Output setting: one is a physical switch on the HD300 and the other is a software setting available in the Setup Menu. See the HD300 manual for details; the manual is available in the Product Manuals section under the Support tab at the top right of this page.

The manual will also tell you how to get at the bass amp. You can't select the bas amp from the Amp Selector dial on the top of the HD300 device. You must select it using the Amp Edit page, or by using the HD300 Edit program.
