POD 2.0 not recognized in Monkey, standard midi plug and play

now that i got the Pod to receive Midi, i wanted to use Monkey software, but as i choose the given Midi IN/OUT bus, it is not found in monkey.
As well when i set midi channel to 1 or all, it is not recognized.
Before i had given up, i plugged the Midi interface directly into the POD.
Is it possible that POD does not like standard plug and play Midi-interfaces?
thought i remember a similar issue some time ago
tobiez
MIDI SPORT UNO from M-AUDIO
??
I do have a Midi Sport, but i want to use it somewhere else.
If the POD is not able to connect to Midi interfaces like other units, i have to give up...
PS .. and before downloading Monkey, a popup should come up:
"You have to use M-Audio interfaces, all other ones will not work"
"PS .. and before downloading Monkey, a popup should come up: "You have to use M-Audio interfaces, all other ones will not work" i agree. they should indicate the preferred device. as for the rest of your post, i thought you were having trouble connecting because you were using a different midi-usb. alas, wrong again. sorry i can't help
every response is kind, and therefore helps!
got a Midisport UNO now- and see- it works.
its extra for Line6 issues !!!!!!
But I guess it was not Monkey, it is the Line6 editor that im using..
A bit disappointed, as it is not the software that edits the patch, its the other way round!
You must tweak the unit itself to get its result reflected by the software....
I even started to think of why i then needed the software for....
???
(i remember Sounddiver being different)
there is still lots of tweaks that i dont know how to get out of the hardware.
Thought that would be the job of the software..!
But i can at least see how high or low the knobs are when selecting a patch on the unit. That helps somehow..
btw: do you know how to set the tap tempo so that a button of my midi controller does it the way expected?
Normally, you press the button twice, just like a sustain pedal but here, i set it like i have to press the button, wait till the next beat and release the button-. ive got the Behringer FCB1010 board with UNO firmware which is capable of setting stomp box or momentary behavior. I tried as a momentary switch.
Also there is no way to get out of the tuning mode except selecting a patch...ooops....dont want a patch, i want back to where i came from when finish tuning...
any thoughts?
if you don't already have one, you should download a manual.
i don't think that monkey would do anything for a POD 2.0 anyway... it is updated by chip replacement i believe.
you should just download line6 edit and try that...
I did-
it works, but more than a library checker, not an editor.
I thought i could tweak the sounds within the software, but instead
you turn the hardware knobs and store the result to PC......
Line 6 Edit is a full featured editor for POD 2.0 You can do deep editing with it and save your edits to your POD 2.0 It replaced Sounddiver. You must connect via MIDI.
If you remember Sounddiver, then you probably have an older version of the 2.0 (as I do) and I do not believe that Monkey will connect to it or recognize it. You can tell you have an older version because the pedal jack will say "PEDAL" I believe the newer ones say "FBV"
indeed its an old POD, (says pedal) thanks for the tip.
Its one of the first ones, but i upgraded the chip.
I would not let its firmware being updated any further, as the next one is not capable of the delay being continued until its end repeat when selecting another patch. I find this very useful and musical.
and indeed as well i mixed up Monkey - Editor -- !
thought that Monkey was the editor, so this thread is filled with misunderstanding, sorry.
In general, i had the unit in the box for years, i have lots of other gear to use, but now i am coming back to it with deeper editing for a particular project..
I will even try a POD XT to see if it can make me even happier.....![]()
