definition of "Volume" control

I'm referring to the "volume" knob that is NOT the master volume.  Is this the simulated Master Volume of the amplifier (which is then simulated in the room) OR just the level of the final simulated output?

The Volume knob adjusts the currently selected Channel (Tone) volume level. It does not model  the Master Vol knob on the selected amp, and does not affect tonality. It is used primarily to balance the relative volume levels between Tones in a preset, and among different presets.
