Using An XTLive and VDI Splitter Box in Tandem?

So...I have the JTV-69, and a Pod XT Live pedal.
The XT powers the Vax through the VDI cable, but will not split the acoustic model signal out like when using the regular switchable VDI box.
The VDI box also powers the Vax using TRS and I can switch the output from guitar amp or acoustic amp.
If I use the VDI box, I cannot take advantage of switching the guitar model with the patch on the XT.
Would it cause damage to the software if I hook up both cables, the TRS from the VDI box and the VDI from the XT Live?
That way I can split the signals and models, yes?
Does this make sense?
If you were sending power to the Variax both way, that may cause some problems, but I think you can still accomplish what you want to do by using a regular mono 1/4" cable going into the splitter box. That way you wouldn't actually be sending power to the Variax from that box. I'd plug the 1/4" cable into the Variax and splitter box before plugging the power cable into it to avoid the power bump you'd get by momentarily touching the "ring" part of its jack. So essentially you'd just be using the splitter as, well, a splitter and not a power supply.
Thanks Phil.
I will try your suggestion.
It males the most sense to me.
Thanks
