Pod hd500 arrow key broken

I've had my pod hd500 for about a year and a half and it is great. It does exactly what I need. However, recently I found I had to press the left arrow key down pretty hard to make it work. Eventually, I started having to hold it down and wobble it from side to side. Now it's at the point where it won't work at all, and maybe I can get it to work a couple times if I try for a while. It isn't a huge deal when playing, but it makes it really difficult to edit presets when I can't get to the effects over to the left.

Any ideas on how I could fix it?

Also, I know using hd edit is an option, but I don't have a functional computer/laptop I can take with me to the places I play. I do have an ipad, and it'd be nice if there was an editing program for that haha

Anyway, any help or advice is welcome.

I am pretty sure your warranty has expired or I would recommend that.   The best option would be to send the unit to the nearest Line 6 Support centre and have them resolve this issue.

If that is a non starter then some people here have fixed this problem them selves.  Check out this thread and the one that is linked to it ... http://line6.com/support/message/379740

I have a bank change and FS1 that are starting to get ropey (not changing or double clicking) so I may be going this way myself soon.  Make sure you use proper switch cleaner rather than WD40 or similar.

the first thing i would suggest is getting electronics cleaner. not electrical contact cleaner, there's a difference. most electrical contact cleaner is not safe for plastic and it may leave residue. radio shack has it for about 10$ for a 5.5oz can. spray some in there and work the arrow key. if you have it, spray canned air to dry or let it stand for 5 or 10 minutes. make sure it's dry before you energize. if it works great. if not, you have a can in your arsenal to combat dirt and greasy build up on your delicate elx.
