Latency issues with PODxt Pro and Riffworks T4...

First let me start by saying I am new to recording on my own so please excuse any dumb questions or statements. Now, I am using my PODxt Pro and am connecting to my laptop (HP Pavillion, i3, Windows 7). I have installed Riffworks T4 and made sure ALL my dirvers are up to date via Monkey! All of the audio sounds fine either through my headphones or Monitors except that there is a delay (latency) when I play my guitar. I have played around with the ASIO settings inside Riffworks and adjusted the buffer sizes, If I use the smallest size possible it seems to clear up the latency issue but Riffworks seems to stop working (I can't get any of the effects or drums to play) but Riffworks returns to normal when I reset the buffer back to a larger size. Is this my computers CPU causing this? I was under the impression that I had plenty of power with this laptop, so I hoping that this is not the issue. Would I be better off getting the UX1 or UX2 instead? Just a thought... Thanks for any help and suggestions.
you probably just need to turn monitoring OFF in riffworks.
Where do I find that setting (Monitoring Off) Sorry for the dumb question. Or is this the Hardware Monitoring that you are suggesting, because I have tried this and it didn't seem to work.
I don't have riffworks in front of me at the moment... so i can't be anymore specific.
Double check your sound card preferences. I had this issue too and my bassist and I scratched our heads for a few hours. We found out that we had outbound sound coming from the comp and from the XT unit, we didn't know the XT unit could send, recieve, and mix everything. So set both in and out to XT and see if that helps.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
