My new 3/4 Half-Stack!

I wanted to share with you my new rig!
It´s a Laney IRT212 cab from the line Ironheart, with two HH 12" speakers, that i added to my Laney TT50C 50 Watts combo. The TT50C has one Celestion Classic Lead 80 speaker, so now I have 3 drivers!
The picture is from the store.
The cab adds an incredible punch and deepness to the sound of the combo, I connect all this using the 4CM with the POD HD 500 and a couple of pedals (a Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe and a Mooer green Mile)
Cheers!
nice setup!
3/4 half sounds wierd.
I'd call it a 3/8ths stack. ![]()
Tri-stack?
Perfect! I´ll call it my tri-stack now!!!! Ha ha ha
Cheers Jim!
Now I don´t know if I should use Combo Power Amp or Stack Power Amp Output setting!
If I change from Combo to Stack I have less bass, so I would have to tweak all my patches..
the general rule is combo is for open back speaker cabinet use, and stack is for closed back speaker cabinet use...
however... the other general rule is use whichever one you prefer ![]()
Thank you Zap!
My combo is open back, but the 2x12 cabinet is closed back!!!!
So I would need 2/3 Stack Power Amp and 1/3 Combo Power Amp!!!! ![]()
Cheers!
Very cool...I love the 312 setup...Mine has been called the little pyramid of death...
I have been running my rigs as a 112 combo and 212 sealed for several years now with vairous amps...Here is a mod you might like that really tighened up this rig for me and it is pretty cheap and easy to do...This also shows how you can double the impedance of three 8 ohm speakers running in parallel and garden hose speaker cable ...
Hi Spaceatl,
Very cool info, but you know here in Uruguay I can´t trust anybody to do this job... And I don´t dare to do it myself!
How would you describe this mod in terms of sound? What does it add to your tone?
BTW which output mode are you using? (I suppose you have a POD HD XXX...)
Cheers!
Spaceatl? Are you there? ![]()
Yea, a little busy with the fam this time of year...The transformer doubles the impedance so I can use 8 ohm speakers...The foam just dampens out the cab so the acoustic energy is more limited to the baffle...makes the low end a little tighter...I have a DT50 and DT25...I have an HD400 I use sometimes and an HD Desktop I use a bit more often...I have since reloaded the cabs and use the DTs a bit more than the SVs...but I still have my SV 112 MK1 and MK2...dual pyramids...I actually prefer that setup with the HD bean...But the DT power amps really do sound a bit better to me...
Stay in the mix and in the know.
