Help with fitting the headset

I feel slightly stupid and mildly annoyed that I can't figure out how to get my new headset to fit. I can't get the mic to even reach the side of my mouth and the wire is buried in my cheek bones. It is extremely uncomfortable.
I can't find anything on line to show me how it should be worn or adjusted to fit.
Can anyone help?
thanks :-)
Hang in their Cool ... all is not lost.
My first guess is that you may have it on upside down (a really common mistake). The hooks should go over your ears so that the boom arm is at the bottom of your ears. There are a couple of small thumbscrews that if you loosen up will allow you to expand the unit. Once loosened you have to be a bit gentile sliding it as it is a very thin metal frame. You might even do this with the unit off your head to see how it slides.
If that doesn't help can you post a photo of it on you?
Here's a self-portrait of me wearing a Crown (...Brand. I've not become royalty, ...yet.) that illustrates the orientation you're after.
Even though you can't see the way the neck-frame extends around to also hook over the left ear, it'll give you a pretty good idea of how to set the armature...
...HOWEVER...
Unlike this particular model, nearly all other headset mics work best with their booms retracted so that the mic capsule (or "head") is located roughly a quarter-inch (3-4mm) back towards the earlobe, away from (but in line with and pointing towards) the corner of the mouth.
(By the way, it isn't actually a requirement that only dummies like me work in pro audio. Nevertheless, being a dummy often helps.)
You two are wonderful! All I needed was a visual, seeing the band on the back of the head like old street style headphones. I really appreciate your help. After 35 years this is the first time I'm trying this.
Cheers!
