PODHD 500 Reverb settings

I was wondering if anyone would be so kind to help explain the settings on the Reverb models. Please explain Decay, Pre-Decay, Tone & Mix - what do these settings do?? I know this is a total beginner question but can anyone explain to me how those settings should effect the tone. I know I should trust my ear but a little help would be very helpful. In the past my tube amps would have a just a dial - turn it up if you want more or keep it lower if you want less. Not sure how that would translate to the POD. Thanks in advance.
Pre-delay is the amount of time before you start hearing the reverb signal. If you were standing in an empty room and shouted, the pre-delay would essentially be determined by the size of the room. A smaller room would have a short pre-delay while a large one would be longer.
Decay is essentially the reverb time. It determines how long the reverb will linger in the sonic field.
Tone determines, well, the tone of the reverb. Generally, a higher tone setting will give you a brighter reverb sound.
Mix determines how much reverb is mixed in with the dry signal. The dry signal remains at 100% throughout the travel of the parameter except at the very end. At 100% mix, there will be no dry signal just reverb.

Decay refers to how long the reverb holds after a note ends. Pre-delay is a very short delay before the reverb begins, which can allow the original note to be heard more clearly with large reverbs. Tone adjusts the amount of highs and mids are heard in the reverb, and mix sets the balance between the original signal and the reverb sound. Hope this helps.
Thanks. So much to consider and so many options. It helps quite a bit to have an understanding to help lesson the learning curve. Thanks again.
Stay in the mix and in the know.
