Questions about POD Farm update

I'm about to attempt to upgrade from 1.x to 2.xx

1) Do I have to uninstall the previous version first?

2) Is this going to play havoc with my license? (I've read a few posts by people having trouble with that)

  I have a license for POD Farm 1 and a code. My understanding was that PF2 was a free upgrade but it's running in Trial mode - I've probably screwed up the working version.
  
  Do I have to pay? Is that the problem?

    register the device(you haven't said which one) then go to the line 6 license manager and authorise the device... if the license is free you should see it italicized in the list after authorized...
    if you didn't buy it new... or within a certain time frame... then the license is not free.

      My PODxt Pro is Authorized and POD Farm 1 shows in the License Manager - no mention at all of PF2.

        pod xt pro, never came with a pod farm 2.x+ license... so that's your answer.. you will have to buy the upgrade if you want it, or just stick with version 1.x
        (this was posted in the toneport/pod studio forum and SOME of them the pod studios came with a 2.x license)
