Sonic Port And Irig Amplitube

Recommended Posts

Hi

does anyone knows if Sonic Port can be used with Amplitube? I'm doing some research before buying the Sonic Port or the iRig HD. They are about the same price, I prefer the Sonic Port because it comes with free software and possibility to share settings but I have already the Amplitube software with some extra options...

can't find this info

thnx for the feedback

Wim

The mobile pod app is very limited for creative recording. There is thougj some limited functionality in garage band for recording.

At this moment in time mobile pod is by far the most poorly supported guitar app available, this may change, but as there is absolutely no information being submitted on the line 6 forums regarding the app it may be worth investigating before you buy.

It's a shame because it sounds fantastic!

I do not own Sonic Port, so I am basing this only on the product description of Sonic Port on this website. I think the answer is Yes - you can use it with Amplitube. The info I base this on appears on the Product Overview page:
http://line6.com/sonicport/

... in the "Plug into iOS Creativity" section, where it says:
Sonic Port makes it easy to connect your guitar or bass to your iOS device and start making music. Simply plug your instrument into the 1/4" guitar input, launch GarageBand, the free Line 6 Mobile POD app, or another CoreAudio app, and start playing.

... so the question becomes: Is Amplitube a CoreAudio app? I believe it is, but you can ask/research that question in the Amplitube product web info/forum.

Update: I did a very quick and dirty search re: Amplitube and CoreAudio. There seems to be conflicting information. You should research this question yourself. The result will answer your question about Sonic Port and AMplitube.

Summer 2013 and one still cannot record line 6 tones on an IOS device...truly pathetic!

I don't care about just playing with these tones, I want to record them into a multitrack app like Auria ( anything but crappy garage band that is) and most everyone else's products can do this except line 6 !

I share your frustration and anger about the lack of support line6 have given to Mobile in/ Mobile pod. Lets hope with this new gadget they will sort some basic recording functionality with the inclusion of audiobus support :-)
