gatelyne
So.. I have the POD hd 30 connect by usb. I am using reaper and have downloaded and redownloaded all of the software to make sure I have it installed correctly. Clean sounds fine but the high gain sounds like a buzzy mess. Sounds like digital clipping. I have lowered all of the levels and no matter what it sounds the same. I tried using patches from other users who have great recorded tones. The exact same patch sounds like fuzz on my end. I can get killer live sounds running the hd through an amp but not when recording. Another thing, I don't see anything about an ASIO driver in reaper. GlennDeLaune
From what you're describing it sounds like your output mode is not set to LINE/PHONES. When recording, ALWAYS set the output mode to LINE/PHONES unless you are using some sort of IR CAB Plug-In, otherwise it would sound exactly as you describe it. Clean sounds are OK but Gain sounds are like, as you put it "a buzzy mess". That would also explain why you can get "killer live sounds running the hd through an amp". Usually the LINE/PHONES mode doesn't work best with a real amplifier.
silverhead
Make sure you set the Output Mode switch on the rear panel of the Hd300 to STUDIO. Also, look further in Reaper for the Audio Device setting. You should see, and select, the HD300 and its ASIO driver for audio input and output.
