On the fence, need a bump (POD HD Desktop or Amplifi TT with Studio UX2)

Hello all,

I'm on the fence with the right unit for the job. But this question might simplify things.

First, is the POD HD Desktop capable of simultaneously recording a guitar AND XLR vocal microphone and record them to individual tracks on the recording software? The Studio UX2 can do this and its an important feature.

Assumimg the HD Desktop can do this, read on.

I need a device that with give me all modeling and multi effects that I can plug into the effects loop. The HD Desktop and the Amplifi TT can both do this for me plus they will both work with my Shortboard MkII. Nice.

I also need the ability to record onto a computer the guitar part as well as a vocal track through XLR. It would be especially nice if I could do this simultaneously. The Studio UX2 will do the job well here.

So you can see, the combination of the Amplifi TT and the Studio UX2 will do the job and probably do it really well, but the question for you guys is will the POD HD Desktop do all this in one unit? If so, you could probably make a good argument that this is a better solution because it has the HD sound library and the overall cost is lower (by about $50.00 for new gear. A few Desktops are still available as new).

Thoughts?

Happy New Year!!!
