Transmitter Cable Length

Hi,

I've been trying to use my G55 with an electric violin. However, I find the transmitter to instrument cable (2ft) is too short. Can a longer cable (say 5ft) be used without adverse consequence. Also, can you advise as to where I can get a 5ft cable.   Thanks,

I wouldn't expect any problems especially if your instrument has a built-in preamp.  A five foot cable would be untypical long so you would probably have to have it custom made.  Do a search for Ta4f to 1/4" and you should find a number of suppliers than can build you a custom cable.

Alternately you could use a 3' 1/4"F to 1/4" M extension cable with the factory supplied cable.

What me and another violinist do is use Velcro (the heavy duty type) to attach the transmitter to the underside body of the violin.  Granted if you have a nice acoustic violin this is not the most optimal situation...  (we both have electric types without the big resonance chambers).
