alphadog808
Hey guys, Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried putting a drive pedal(TS) after the amp in their chain? As weird as it might seem, and you'd never do it in a real setting, I tried it the other day, and man...it sounds great to me. This was for a higher gain blues thing, like a SRV/John Mayer kinda thing. It's weird cause you can really hear the clean side of the amp and also the gain from the pedal at the same time. The only thing is that I noticed that there is a...kinda fuzz around the sound, so you don't get a really smooth tone...just wondering if anyone else has had success doing stuff like that... Brazzy
Oh YES!!! It works good. Don't be hesitant to try any configuration to see what ya get. More experience means more fun.
alphadog808
Thanks for the confirmation...I guess I'm not crazy! :D Hurg, I have an Epsi in my loop, so the cab emulation is actually after the pedal...It's like...static around the notes...but it's kind of in a nice way? Hard to explain.
aerosol_d7
Good to know, I will test it. Any good setting do you guys recommend to start?
alphadog808
Good to know, I will test it. Any good setting do you guys recommend to start? I dunno man, whenever I use other people's patches, I'm super disappointed. :( But in a nutshell, I'm using the divided by 9 amp just with some break up and then a tubescreamer after the amp....Tone on the TS is pretty high but the treb and lows are about 50%. Gain is about 65%.
aerosol_d7
Do you compare with TS before the amp ?
alphadog808
Do you compare with TS before the amp ? Yah, I used to have it before the amp. it was harsher. It's more...integrated, less harsh, almost airy now. Then again, I have an epsi after it, so that might make a huge difference.
