jewells2006
hi, i just bought a hd300 and installed all software from line 6 monkey, drivers/ latest 2.01 flash firmware etc.So my question is if i try to do factory reset as manual states it will not go to factory reset after holding A footswitch when powering up!Does it only work if you have changed/ or edited patches after flashing firmware, as i havent changed or edited from the updates of firmware flash? silverhead
Are you following these procedures? http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd300400/video-tutorial-pod-hd300-400-factory-reset-r214 At what point is it failing?
jewells2006
hi, exactly as described, when i hold A button down and connect power unit goes straight to operating window showing 1A 65 clean channel and not to restore preset
silverhead
Does your A footswitch work normally in other circumstances? If so, I would reinstall the firmware. Use HD300 Edit to back up your bundle first if you haven't already done so.
jewells2006
Yes A switch works normal, i rolled back to earlier version 1.31 and tried factory reset, still not working, then reinstalled 2.01 and tried again, still no factory reset.... keeps going straight to user window? silverhead
Note that the firmware reinstall includes a factory reset. Since the reinstall is working, and the A switch works in normal circumstances, you are now in the same situation as if you had just performed a factory reset. Presumably you can repeat the reinstallation anytime you would prefer to just do the factory reset, so I thinkthe only real issue here is the extra time that it takes to perform a complete firmware reinstall rather than just the factory reset. I don't know how often you want to do just the reset, but you'll need to compare the time (and perhaps $$) spent trying to solve the problem versus simply avoiding it. If you do want to pursue this I think your next step is to open a support ticket and work directly with Line 6 to get it resolved.
jewells2006
Well i suppose i can do firmware reinstall for a factory reset, but thats not fixing a faulty product :(
silverhead
I agree. Open a support ticket if you want to find out what would be required to fix it. Only you can decide whether it's worth the time/cost/hassle.
jewells2006
Found the problem the power suppy was possibly to blame, as soon as i bought a new one the unit was able to reset? the old power supply was a very loose connection where as the new one was tighter maybe this is why, as it wasn't making full contact?
