Recording with Presonus Studio One

Recommended Posts

Bought a POD 2.0, and I currently use Presonus Studio One. I have very little recording experience, and I'm pretty sure everything is set up so far. I use a ROLAND UM-One MIDI->USB cable, but I have no idea where to go from here. I am aware of how to set up the MIDI device in Studio One (at least, I think I've done it right), but I don't know how to actually get the sound from my guitar to come through to my DAW, and subsequently, how to record through it. Is there something else I need before this can work?

depends on what you are trying to record... or what you may record in the future..

i used a tascam 1800 for a long time.. and now use a UAD apollo.

tascam makes many lower models too (less inputs/features)

like 6 makes a few too the GX, UX1, and UX2,

looking up any of those should give you an idea of what you're looking for....

but depending on your needs and your budget there's a ton of options out there.
