I find the Tube Comp can really make a difference before the amp model. I usually mess around with treble and presence on amp models and pedals, depending on the guitar I use and also depending on what cabinet and mic chosen. shredjsx Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 You know I've never, no matter how hard I've tried, bern able to get a tube screamer to sound good in front of my amps... However I love the screamer in the HD500, it just seems to boost the amps tone and drive it a little harder... I like your blues setting... I found though that the Jazz Rivera , or rather the clean jazz amp works great with a Tube drive, or a screamer in front of it...
