Global EQ Not Applied To USB Recordings?

I recently updated to the new firmware to poke around with the global EQ, but I'm finding its not being applied to what I record via USB to my project in Reaper.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this not supported?

noone ever said it would be applied to the usb output....

not its intended use.

I imagine the intended use was to cut through via live mix. Well, still. What if some of use are using USB live? These are things you guys need to consider. Besides, what's the harm? You can turn it off.

I like to use a DAW to jam live, believe it or not. Luckily, I've been using spdif over USB lately.

it would likely use DSP to accomplish that....

and if your going to give me any usb features... i'll take wet/dry over anything else....

theres no point in it over usb since you'd have plenty of eq options in your daw or plugins.

That is true, but would be nice to make the EQ work be done through the POD. I don't get why it needs extra DSP though. It's processing 2 stereo signals if the USB DOESN'T use the EQ.

Also, can't you just adjust the dryness through the control panel?

its no different than putting one of the other eq's last in the chain...

there is no wet and dry option over usb.... you can switch the spdif out to dry.... but not wet and dry....

you have to split the path and do L and R as wet and dry and then mono them in the DAW if you want both.

personally if I'll ever use the global eq it will be only for room correction..

also, I imagine that leaving the global eq settings at their default values, ie neutral and not equalizing the passing signal, would be better to turn it off to avoid an unnecessary additional processing..

right?

I had high hopes for the global EQ, but it looks like I won't be using it at all, especially now that I see it doesn't work over usb. Oh well, no biggie.

I don't think turning the EQ on or off makes any difference. The DSP it uses is likely reserved for the EQ. It defaults to on I think.

yeah it likely reserves the DSP for the outputs it will potentially work on...

in order for it to work on other outputs... AKA usb/line6link.... it would probably have to reserve more DSP.

I meant to say that the if the signal passes through an FX that doesn't add actively nothing to it, the signal is still processed and a bit unnecessarily degraded if the FX is turned on

Gotta love the obsessive nature of guitar players, me included.
