cruisinon2
You can't keep your patches and load the new presets at the same time. It's one or the other. If you want the new presets, then save all your patches to your computer, then reflash the firmware without keeping your existing patches. Afterwards, you can reload your patches from the saved bundle to whatever set-list(s) you want to store them in.

LarryGunn
I have the same problem without the Variax. I bought the full pack for HD500X and instinctually checked save same presets. I had already saved my current presets to a bundle. So now I have the new amps but not the associated presets. I tried de-authorizing and re-authorizing the HD500X and also re-stalled the flash. Still I didn't get the preset message. I know it's probably something simple that I am overlooking, but this is quite frustrating. Please help is you have the answer. Or a reasonable guess. silverhead
.... So now I have the new amps but not the associated presets. .... Not sure what you are saying. There are no new presets that use the new amps in the purchased model packs. If you have the new amps then the only thing you may be missing is a new setlist contained in the new firmware. This new setlist is primarily designed for users with Variax guitars but it is also useful for non-variax users. One user here (username hurghanico) has posted that setlist in another thread. Search under his username and tuo will be able to download that setlist and install it using HD500X Edit. Don't forget that after you install the firmware you need to perform a global settings reset and calibrate the pedal. Instructions are in the FAQ under the Support tab. LarryGunn
Thanks a lot for the quick response. Since I posted last, I re-installed the firmware and the flash again. I did get the preset message which I answered correctly this time. I did see the new patches that I believe match a list for the Variax. I am surprise that you pay for an expansion pack and it comes with zero examples of what you just bought. Mind blown. I do have the new amps, although I'll need to find a list of how they are named to be sure they are all there. I couldn't find a Roland anywhere. I guess we all ultimately program our own sounds, but Line 6 really missed an opportunity to show they give a damn about their customers in not providing any new setlist banks. Over time those same customers will share their hard work on the new amp models. Pitiful that Line 6 wouldn't present even a few highlights of the new models to get us started. At least some documentation with lists of what you do and don't get would seem to be a minimum of what you should be able to expect. Again, thanks for your help.
