Tuner muting issues

I don't know if this always been this way or if this is related to the tuner issues caused by the last FW updates but...

I just noticed last night then when I hit my tuner, both of my 1/4 inch outs are NOT muted.  I've just started running this in stereo so it's totally possible that it's always been this way but it is certainly an issue.  Is there a setting I am missing by chance?

when you are in tuner mode in the display you can see and change a particular setting: bypass/mute

I'll have to check when I get back home but it should be in mute mode.  One channel mutes and the other one doesn't.  It's always muted before the only thing that has changed is using both channels now.

The new fw requires a global reset and that reset changes the default tuner mode to bypass so all you need to do is reset that value to mute. When tuner is activated, control knob 2 allows you to change between bypass and mute, and the value is displayed on the screen below the tuner display.

That could very well be it... I just did a global reset on it last week, before I added the 2nd channel on.  I'll check that asap.

Remember that the tuner only operates on input 1. If you have input 2 set to SAME and you have a stereo path throughout your patch and the mixer with path A and path B panned hard left and right then it may be possible that if tuner is set to MUTE that it will only mute path A and therefore L out and so you may still get a signal coming through on R out. I haven't tried this so I may be wrong but it may be why you still hear sound on one channel. My patches are all mono, and I usually have input 2 set to something else which means tuner will mute everything for me.

when you are in tuner mode only input1 signal is used (as you said), any signal processing is bypassed, and if the tuner is set to MUTE both path A and B outputs are muted

Thanks for clarifying nico. I thought that was how it was designed to work but I had not tested it myself as I mostly use input 1 and 2 set to different values. Based on spawn2031 earlier comment I was just trying to think of a possible explanation for what he described just in case it was not just the global reset setting tuner mode back to bypass.

I had a suspicion similar to yours but then I did a test which confirmed what I said..

also, I thought that could be handy using the tuner just to mute the device with a single click, but I don't know if the tuner is switched off automatically after a time of inactivity..

My tuner stays on until I turn it off. -- I've left it sit for a few days (not on purpose).

And it will power on to the tuner too.

Well, I wonder if that is a change in one of the numerous FW releases. I haven't rebooted while in tuner mode for quite awhile.

But yes, to clarify my previous statements:

1. With the unit turned on, the tuner stays on until you turn the tuner off. I know this because I had accidentally left my tuner on for a few days.

2. With the tuner turned on, if you power down, the tuner will be on when you power up.

~~~~although, this is old information and is currently in question.
