Its not much to go on but hopefully we will get it figured out.

  1. Have you tried a different USB cable.
  2. Have you tried different USB ports on your computer.
  3. If possible, try hooking the unit up to another computer.

With the information you have provided its impossible to proceed without ruling these things out first.

I have tried all the USB ports and all available cables.

What I have observed is Line6 driver v4.2.7.1 is not getting installed into the system for some reason, neither directly from line 6 monkey, nor manually from website. I have a feeling if this driver version gets installed, then it might detect the POD.

Pls help

it sound like its to do with driver signing in windows 7/8 ?, I think you will find that the line 6 driver is not a signed driver so windows 7/8 may block it. you need to make sure you allow windows to install the unsigned driver.

infact what O/S are you using ?? if windows ? what version?

for windows 7 try reading here this may help

hmmm just a heads up, im not sure ? but after logging on the line 6 forum I got Port scanned attacked by this IP address 207.10.176.134 ...

I am not 100% sure it was from this site although I would strongly advise people to add that IP address to be blocked by there firewall, it belongs to an USA ISP which I have reported to the company and http://www.abuseipdb.com/check/207.10.176.134 ....

try this

download this http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/usbdeview.html        NO INSTALLATION NEEDED

Don't connect the pod with the USB

launch usb deview  and wait for loading

right click and choose uninstall this driver  for all what you see as POD HD 400 (in second colon DESCRIPTION)

After this ,uninstall all Line  6 monkey and HD edit etc... with the usual way

Take a look and delete all the maps related line 6 or Pod HD 400 (if you have other stuff of line 6) to :

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local

C:\ProgramData

C:\Program Files

C:\Program Files (x86)

restart the PC

NOW  AT FIRST

INSTALL THE HD EDIT(right click and choose install as admin) DON'T CONNECT  the usb  when asking , just install  and finish

Now Install the line 6  monkey(instal as admin) and connect the Pod when asking

normally it must work now !!

I hope

  • 1 month later...

Punkyboy, stevevnicks.. Thanks a lot guys..

It seemed to work... implemented both of your ideas. It turns out it is crucial for the windows USB installer to work while Line 6 driver installer asks to plug in the USB.

Thanks a lot again.. :) So happy now..

But new problem guys (bad poker face).. all my presets seem to hv gone crazy after firmware update :'(  what next?
