glukash Posted May 9, 2015 Share Posted May 9, 2015 Hello The connection between Vetta and Shortboard is like one direction only.When I switch something on amp the shortboard reacts but when I switch something on Shortboard nothing is happening. DickFoster Posted May 9, 2015 Share Posted May 9, 2015 Have you tried another cable? They they use a standard Ethernet network cable so you probably have on laying around alreay. If not they're uber cheap and easy to get your hands on. Radio Shack, homecenter or hardware store, office supply, etc. I'd try and suspect that first. DickFoster Posted May 11, 2015 Share Posted May 11, 2015 Oh well. The cable is the cheap and easy first thing to check. It's best to cross your fingers when you try and hope for the best. Now it could be either the amp or the floorboard. The next thing to do is try to find another floorboard to try and see which. Yeah I know they are as scarce as hens teeth. If you were local I tell you to come try my long board but these things are too heavy and bulky to ship and I may never see it again plus it was hard enough to get my hands on this one. LOL Good luck with your search. I don't have a schematic for one but from what I remember when I took mine apart for a look see, there were only a couple of common and simple chips inside along with the slew of switches and LEDs. The fancy bits are in the amp so hope for a bad chip in the floor board and that's the next most likely problem. Yes I've tried using 2 different cables. Vetta125 Posted May 30, 2015 Share Posted May 30, 2015 You also may need to check the metal prongs inside the rj45 jack on the floorboard and on the amp and see if they are all straight and not mashed down or crossing over into each other. After time they get bent and sometimes dont connect or line up properly with the cable you are inserting. Be careful, because the prongs only bend so many times before they break.
