First time messing with the HD Edit software, trying to create a patch with a harmonizer. But I want the harmony to be a half step, to achieve an affect similar to what you would hear in a Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza song. I assume the effect I would use would be the frequency shifter, but how would I set it to get a half step harmony?

a half step is never harmony

but if you wanted something a half step down...

fx type: pitch

fx model: pitch glide

pitch: -1.0

mix is up to you

And it sure would be nice if I could use 500edit on my Android Phone or Android Tablet to manage my Pod when not at home.

Even if it needs to be a '500 Lite' version that only allows for the import and export of patches, and not a full-fledged working program.

Something needs done.

I believe that is actually called dissonance, if I remember my high school band teachings properly...

Had a listen to a Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza track... Sounds like 1/2 step and flat-5 (tritone) get a bit of mileage. Use the "Pitch Glide" set to +1 (1/2 step) or +6 (tritone) with a mix of 50/50. Don't' work about trying to use the Smart Harmony. Try putting the FX block at the very beginning of your chain, before the amp.
