Getting Pod Studio UX2 to work with Windows 8.1

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I'm trying to get my old Line 6 stuff working on my new laptop, but so far it's just been hours of frustration.

My computer is a Dell Running Windows 8.1

Processor: Intel Core i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz

RAM: 16.0 GB

64 bit operating system

I downloaded Line 6 Monkey and tried to install the latest drivers, but I ran into so any problems.

First, I kept getting error 80002006 that it couldn't resolve the host name into a web address or something like that. It said I wasn't connected to the internet. I logged off line 6 and restarted Monkey and it worked ok. But this entire time monkey was showing that my device was not connected, which it was.

A pop up said it might be because I don't have the USB drives installed, but when I tried to click on "update" for the USB ports but it said it was having problems "communicating" with my device.

I restarted again, and monkey said it was connected with my device but was having problems comunicating with it. This whole time my UX2 did not have any lights on at all, and seemed dead. But every time I unplug it and plug it back into my computer, the lights flash for a second and the needles jump, then everything goes dark again.

I downloaded the demo version of Pod Farm 2.5 and connected my device, and everything was dark. The device was not acting like it was plugged in! I can't for the life of me figure out if something is wrong with my USB connections.

I just uninstalled everything and am asking for your help. :( I want to give this one more try because I spent a lot of money for this UX2, but I also don't want to screw up my brand new expensive laptop.
