There is nothing pluged on computer. Just the POD Cable. I try all the USB ports. In all USB port POD HD500 driver is reconized. And my pod HD isn't working. I am with a piece of metal.. just this.. Please I need play in a GIG today and I think the line 6 will fail with me.
line-6-user
Try disconnecting the USB cable, then : close everything, restart the podHD, restart the computer, make sure that thre are no programs sharing the sound card, THATS INCLUDING INTERNET BROWSERS. Plug in the USB cable, Start Monkey and retry the update. Hope this helps you.
BillBee
You may also DL the flash memory to your PC then use the update from file option in Monkey.
brue58ski
Do you have a Variax hooked up while doing the upgrade?
prasunc
Ditto same issue with my brand new HD500 with some added excitement.... It freezes when I try to select a bank by pressing A,B,C,D buttons and after that nothing else works unless I power cycle. Then the story repeats itself over again :-( Very disappointed. bartnettle1
Bummer man, sounds like you need to take out a support ticket. In the meantime I imagine you have tried everything, reset, what about reflashing to an earlier firmware revision? Was it working fine when you first tried it out? Did you update firmware hoping this issue would handle? If so a hardware issue and as new under warranty. If not you can open up the unit and see if you can locate a soldering fault by touch various bits with static free gloves and with the power and bits connected see if you can get the cycle to rightify itself and narrow down where it is. You might be lucky and only have to just reheat a solder joint.
prasunc
Powercycled the box like I powercycle my wifi router... that seemed to do the trick! * Keep the right arrow key pressed & power on the device. * Wait for a menu to come up. All components listed with a - against them * Keep the right key pressed all this while & power down The box comes up & behaves like it should have. Surprisingly a lot of videos on Youtube say that you need to press the left key for reset but that seems to be just wrong. Pressing the left key does nothing. duncann
Pressing the left key while powering on does a global reset. After doing a global reset you'll also need to do a pedal calibration.
prasunc
@ Gear Head You are more experienced than I am with the POD 500 so should I expect the display to show anything different during the reset phase. How to I know it has reset?

How to I know it has reset? There really is no visual indication of a global reset, other than if you turned off the tap-tempo led, now it will be flashing again. If you changed any global settings prior to a reset, such as output mode, fs mode, trails, lcd contrast, etc. from their defaults, they will have returned to default settings. Doing a reset doesn't affect any presets, custom or otherwise.

augshm
THANK YOU On 4/21/2020 at 10:37 PM, bruno0fernandes said: My pedal was in Tuner mode on, I tried turn it of and it worked! I swear to god I tried EVERYTHING so I wouldn't need to factory reset the POD. This stupid little thing was the issue and when it worked I just couldn't believe it. Thank you so much, O Master of Minds!
