I'm thinking of picking up a used Variax bass, which I'd like to modify even further - in particular, in addition to a Warmoth neck, I'd like to put all gold hardware on it. My only concern is the bridge with the piezo pickups in it. Does anyone have any experience with replacing the bridges on a Variax and keeping the pickups in working order?
